Running from 13 to 28 September at the iconic venues of Cinémathèque and Ciné Utopia in Luxembourg City, this annual festival promises a mesmerising showcase of cinema from the UK and Ireland. Run by Festival Events Asbl, the BIFFL brings a unique proposition to movie enthusiasts in Luxembourg, providing them an early viewing of 12 feature-length films from a wide range of genres. Come discover new trends, buy/sell sneakers, exchange them or just come hang out. You can also find shirts, caps and other accessories connected to urban/hip hop and sports culture.

4. Hear 'Seed To Tree' at den Atelier

What: Shoegaze, folk, new wave

Seed To Tree are Luxembourg's biggest indie folk-pop band (together since school times) and they are releasing their new album with a release concert celebration at den Atelier. Great music to dance and switch off to, you don't want to miss this lovely evening.

5. See massive pumpkins in Beringen

Beringen hosts a huge pumpkin competition this weekend. Private growers will showcase their largest and most spectacularly shaped pumpkins, amongst other veggies. Previous winners showcased pumpkins weighing more than 200kg! Come along to feel inspired ahead of Halloween...

6. All hail the new Riesling queen!

A real Moselle region tradition: the inauguration of this year's Riesling queen, traditionally held the weekend after the crowning of Luxembourg's wine queen in Grevenmacher! Sara Rinnen has been awarded the title for 2023/2024, and she'll be crowned in Wormeldange this Friday at 8pm (free entry, reservation required). Saturday and Sunday will offer an all-day tasting programme and sale of wines from the commune's wineries.

7. Meet the Einsteins of tomorrow

What: Science Slam!

Science Slam offers young scientists a platform to explain their research projects in short, digestible 10-minute talks. The audience will then get to vote afterwards. The goal is to explain scientific work in an understandable, entertaining and concise way. Come and support these youngsters and, who knows, maybe they are presenting the next big discovery of tomorrow!
