2. Honour the Roman god of wine

Each year on 15 August, Remich celebrates the Bacchus Festival around its iconic Bacchus Fountain, honouring the Roman god of wine. Expect a lively mix of local wine, music, and festive spirit flowing through the town’s streets. It’s a summer tradition with a nod to the divine origins of good grapes.

3. Hear Sprints
What: Indie & post-punk

2024 was quite the year for Sprints. The Dublin band unveiled their Top 20 debut album Letter To Self, opened for IDLES and Pixies, and delivered feverishly talked-about sets at Glastonbury, End Of The Road and All Together Now. Then, in September, they harnessed the adrenaline of non-stop gigging into new material and released a new single, Feast, which reinvigorated Sprints’ vision entirely. All of this has led to them becoming an essential new name in contemporary rock.
4. Visit Esch street festival for kids

Every Saturday this summer, Rue de l’Alzette in Esch comes alive with street performances and family-friendly fun. From magicians and breakdancers to outdoor Zumba, comedy, live music, and even Vespa displays, there’s something new each week. Swing by for a lively afternoon full of surprises, laughs, and energy.

5. Watch free open air films in Luxembourg City
What: Sunset Cinema

Sunset Cinema makes Luxembourg City's Parc Central in Kirchberg its home for this weekend, screening Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, Bohemian Rhapsody, Dirty Dancing, and Superjhemp Retörns. Screenings are free, just come early.

6. Discover bird whistles by bike
What: 20km route
Where: Starting point is Kehlen by the football pitch

This weekend, the Péckvillchen-Tour combines the discovery of idyllic landscapes with traditional pottery. Follow the route through rolling hills and charming villages in the municipalities of Kehlen and Koerich. You'll be passing by artisan shops along the way.

7. Visit a Filipino community festival
What: Music, food and local traditions

The Filipino community is organising their "Kaumahan" festival, a Cebuano word meaning "field", in the quaint village of Hitten near Beckerich. Discover homemade Filipino specialties, hear live music acts and make new friends. Admission is free, with all proceeds going towards projects supported by the organisation.
