1. Tour the archaeological crypt

As part of Summer in the City, a free UNESCO-guided walk invites you to explore Luxembourg’s layered past. The tour includes rare access to the archaeological crypt of the Saint-Esprit citadel. Starting at the Place de la Constitution, the tour runs halfway up the fortifications, through Pétrusse Park to the Corniche ("the most beautiful balcony in Europe"), over the ramparts and ends in the old town. A chance to see the fortress city’s history from a whole new angle.

2. Travel back in time to medieval Buergfest
What: Knight tournaments, markets, and more

Dudelange-Boudersberg transforms into a medieval world for a weekend of markets, music and spectacle. With over 90 stalls, knight tournaments, sword fights, minstrels and fire shows, the festival is the largest of its kind in the Greater Region. A lively journey back in time for all ages.

3. Party at LOA in Esch
What: Electronic music festival

LOA Festival wraps up the season with two days of music, energy, and celebration at Metzeschmelz between Esch-sur-Alzette and Schifflange on 12–13 September. Four stages will host over 40 artists, from big names like W&W and Maddix to local support and DJs From Mars. Tickets.
4. Take dogs for a splash

Where: Rue René Hartmann, L-3425 Dudelange

Celebrate the end of the season with a splash – dogs are welcome to swim, splash, and play at Dudelange Outdoor Pool! Owners can relax while their furry friends enjoy the water, but dogs must be supervised at all times and wear a collar or harness. A fun, tail-wagging day for all.

5. Watch FLOW at open air cinema

If you're late to the party, Flow (2024) is a breathtaking animated adventure that sweeps audiences into a world reshaped by a great flood. At its heart is a stray cat who joins an unlikely crew of animals on a fragile boat, discovering friendship, trust, and belonging along the way. With no dialogue and mesmerising visuals, this poetic tale promises an unforgettable cinema experience for all ages.
6. Hear Gogol Bordello
What: Punk-folk energy

Gogol Bordello bring their wild mix of punk energy and global influences to Luxembourg, led by the unstoppable Eugene Hütz. Known for turning every gig into a sweaty, communal celebration, the band’s latest work dives back into their hardcore roots. Expect a night where Eastern, Western, and Latin sounds collide in true Gogol fashion.
7. Hang out at the TreeBoo Festival
What: Workshops, mindfulness, music
Where: Amphitheater Kirchberg

TreeBoo Festival returns as a spring gathering where music, art and wellness meet under the open sky. Expect everything from yoga and family activities to global rhythms and immersive performances.
