
At 10pm on Saturday, police were made aware of a woman disturbing the peace at a bar in Bonnevoie. When asked to leave the premises, she refused. Officers arriving on the scene found the woman to be heavily intoxicated, as she screamed and attempted to return to the bar.
She later resisted arrest and managed to inflict minor injuries on a police officer as they tried to take her into custody. As the woman was deemed to be a danger to herself and others, she was taken for a medical check and then held in a cell overnight to sober up.
In Bascharage, a fight broke out implicating several people on Saturday night. Three of the people involved were taken into custody overnight.
At 11am on Saturday morning, a man had his gold necklace stolen by two individuals on Place de Strasbourg. The two thieves followed the man to his place of residence, where they distracted him by dancing around him.
When he pushed back, they fled the scene, at which point he noticed the theft had occurred. An investigation has been launched into the matter.
A burglary took place at a property on Rue de Stade, Schouweiler, between 11.30am and 10.35pm on Saturday. The intruder gained entry by forcing open a window and searched the whole house. They then fled in an unknown direction.
In Mondercange a house was targeted by thieves on Saturday evening between 1am and 1.10am. They entered via the rear of the property. Forensic police have examined the scene.
Finally, in Abweiler, an intruder broke into a house on Rue du Village via an unlocked patio door. The individual was described as 180cm tall and slim, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and a backpack.
The residence's dogs alerted the owner to the intruder's presence, enabling her to surprise him in the act. When she called out for help, he fled the scene. Nothing was stolen. Police are investigating the incident.
In Garnich, police were notified of a drink-driver at around 7pm. A patrol pulled the vehicle over and performed a breathalyser test, returning positive results. The car was seized by the authorities.
During a traffic check on Rue Glesener in Luxembourg City, police noticed an intoxicated motorist, and confiscated his driver's licence.
While on patrol in the Gare district, police spotted a car speeding through a red light and pulled the vehicle over. It became apparent that the driver was under the influence, and he lost his licence as a result.
Other licences were confiscated in Winseler and Differdange for drink-driving. In the latter case, the driver's vehicle was impounded as he was already meant to be serving a driving ban for previous intoxication offences.
