Clervaux Tarkett GDL agrees job retention plan

RTL Today
On Friday afternoon, the OGBL and LCGB trade unions announced they had agreed a job retention plan with the Clervaux-based flooring manufacturers.

Tarkett GDL, which employs around 500 people at the site in northern Luxembourg, is experiencing financial difficulties due to the economy and the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic. On Friday, the business confirmed a job retention plan had been agreed with the trade unions to “ensure employment, safeguard skills and avoid layoffs for economic reasons”, according to a press release.

The agreement covers a period of eight months until 30 April 2024 and is yet to be submitted for approval to the competent authorities.

Tarkett has been active in Luxembourg for more than half a century, previously operating under the Sommer and Eurofloor businesses, located in Wiltz.
