
Luxembourg is set to introduce a new certification and label system for food products. However, the two organisations believe that it is not enough to simply regulate that prices be “fair”, but rather that they are high enough to guarantee the survival of farmers. Furthermore, this should not only affect the national sector, but also the import of foreign products.
Fairtrade Luxembourg and Fair Mëllech thus demand that Minister of Agriculture, Viticulture and Rural Development Romain Schneider reevaluate the respective draft law, since it is crucial for the survival of farmers in the sector.
