According to the new president, the ambitious government plan requires a lot of work from parliament, starting with the awareness campaign for the constitutional reform. In that respect, Fernand Edgen finds it very important that the public gets comprehensive and correct information on foreseen amendments.
Another priority for the parliament will be to implement the proposals that have been made after last year's audit, that showed that the parliament's IT section is not secure. According to Edgen, there are plans to create a new Webpage, something that the general secretary Claude Frieseisen wanted for the start of the year already.
The general secretary also reminded the MPs that Luxembourg will lead BeNeLux parliament for the next two years.
In collaboration with the parliamentary assembly of the OECD, the parliament will organise a major event in July, expecting 600 to 700 guests.
