Late on Saturday evening, an attempted burglary took place at a restaurant on Rue Prince Henri in Ettelbruck. According to initial reports, the perpetrator tried to enter through a window and a door, but failed and fled.

Police said in their Monday bulletin that a search was launched immediately for the alleged perpetrator. There was no success at first, but the suspect was arrested later on. He was taken into custody on the orders of the public prosecutor's office and brought before an examining magistrate.

Cars broken into over the weekend

In the capital, officers were alerted at 5.45pm on Sunday that a car in the car park at Place Winston Churchill had been broken into. According to initial information, unknown persons had forced their way into the car between midday and 5.45pm, though no signs of a break-in could be spotted at the scene. A bag containing personal documents and a bank card was stolen, police said. A report has been filed.

At around 9pm on Sunday evening, police were alerted to another car break-in, this time on Boulevard de la Pétrusse. According to initial information, an unknown perpetrator forced the passenger-side window in order to get into the car. Among the items taken were a watch, a house key and a car key.
