Welcome to the weekend! Hear free concerts at the Kinnekswiss park, watch polo or football games, see all things bucolic in Ettelbruck, dance to Calvin Harris, find flea market bargains, or watch fireworks in Esch Belval.

1. See free picnic concerts at Kinnekswiss

Head to the Kinnekswiss for three free open-air concerts! On Friday, Irish singer-songwriter Ronan Keating will be performing with orchestra, supported by Josh Island. On Saturday, the Luxembourg Philharmonic will perform alongside famous tenor Rolando Villazón and soprano Emily Pogorelc. Sunday sees Róisín Murphy and EDSUN take to the stage. Friday and Sunday starts at 7.30pm, Saturday at 9pm.

2. Watch polo games and attend gala

Don’t miss the prestigious polo event of the summer at the Reitstall Ecurie de la Petrusse. The weekend's event includes two polo games, entertainment as well as a White Gala Evening with Aperinetwork Luxembourg. Talented players from various countries will mark this 20th anniversary event.

3. Watch EUROs at Glacis

Not going to lie, there's some big games happening this weekend! It's the EUROs quarter finals. Spain play Germany on Friday at 6pm, followed by France vs Portugal at 9pm. On Saturday, England play Switzerland at 6pm and Netherlands vs Turkey at 9pm. Some excellent European football to be expected. Of course, being a Dutch editor compiling this story...had to include the famous orange dance that has made football fans go crazy!

4. Visit agricultural fair

What: All things bucolic
Where: Däichhal in Ettelbruck

Bring the kids, the parents and four-legged friends to Luxembourg’s agricultural fair, which last year welcomed some 40,000 visitors. Expect all things bucolic, from equestrian shows and workshops to admiring local cattle breeds and buying agricultural equipment. And tractors. Lots of tractors. Hopefully.

5. Dance to Calvin Harris

What: EDM/pop
Where: LuxExpo
When: Saturday, 6 July at 8pm - info & tickets

In one of the biggest nights of the year, producer, DJ and songwriter Calvin Harris will be performing for the first time in Luxembourg at LuxExpo Open Air. Known for hits like Summer, One Kiss, I Need Your Love, Outside and My Way, this man is the sound of EDM pop summer. Tickets still available.

6. Find bargains on Place Guillaume

What: Flea market
Where: Place Guillaume

An unmissable event for you bargain hunters and vintage fans out there, come to Place Guillaume on this Sunday. The Luxembourg City flea market is a large street market where private people can sell second-hand items they no longer need (and where people purchase items they don't really need?) Anyways, this is great fun!

7. Watch fireworks at Blast Furnace Festival

The 2024 edition of the Blast Furnace Festival celebrates the fusion of metal, steel and the arts. The grandiose event combines performances (acrobats, dance), music, lights and pyrotechnics. A big fireworks show is scheduled for 10pm and will undoubtedly be the grand highlight of the day.
