The combined efforts of neimënster, Max Hochmuth and den Atelier brought to life the 4th edition of the Siren’s Call. Expect a vibrant mix of music, workshops, sound installations, and much more to please the artistic souls among us.

The Siren’s Call Music & Culture Festival started in 2017 and has since become the yearly summer event that the Grand-Duchy can look forward to with multiple genres performing on various stages in the historic centre of the city of Luxembourg in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This year’s edition will take place on 27 June. Stages and venues are sprinkled across the picturesque Grund district and Luxembourg City. The main stages will be at the scenic Neumünster Abbey (with a selection of cherry-picked acts even taking place inside the abbey’s church) but other venues include famed nightclub Melusina and the energetic De Gudde Wellen on rue du Saint Esprit, which will have DJ sets until 6 am for the night owls. In the words of co-founder Max Hochmuth, Siren’s Call is aiming to go “bigger, bolder, better.”

The organisers of the event emphasised that the locations and the artists form an organic whole: walking through what some might call the most beautiful parts of Luxembourg City is just as much a part of the overall experience than the music and the various artistic experiences.

The music line-up boats a balanced mix of established international stars and local talents. To name but a few, there will be Foals (UK), Nothing But Thieves (UK), Hania Rani (PL), Viagra Boys (SE), Josin (GER), Georgia (UK), Friedberg (GER), The Howl & the Hum (UK), Joanna (FR), CHAiLD (LU), and Charlotte Bridge (LU). The organisers announced this Monday that they were excited to add Georgia’s euphoric synth pop and alt-indie outfit Friedberg’s music to the bill.

Speaking of artistic experiences, it would be wrong to thing of Siren’s Call as a mere music festival. Far from it, there will also be workshops, dancing and yoga sessions, a food village with locally produced food, mixed art performances, a creator’s and initiatives market, immersive sound installations (“Noise Garden”), and even a play “Le dernier ogre”).

Speaking to press in February, the organisers stressed that they were willing to take risks with these innovations - the festival takes pride in its multi-faceted nature all while preserving its cultural authenticity, eccentric concept, and idiosyncratic voice.

And for those who cannot wait until 27 June, there will also be an opening night on 26 June in collaboration with “Am Gronn,” which has long been hailed as a refreshing artistic boost to the Grund district.

Tickets for what shapes up to be a more than promising event are €58.20 and can be bought here. Some good news for parents: the festival is free for children under 10.
