After a relatively moderate start to the week, Luxembourg is bracing for a significant rise in temperatures as summer heat returns.
Monday will act as a transition day: maximum temperatures will range from 28–30°C. The day is set to begin under cloudy skies before sunshine gradually prevails, creating a warm but not excessive atmosphere.
On Tuesday, the summer heat is to return, with temperatures approaching the 30°C mark and peaks around 29–31°C. Although the sky will remain hazy throughout the day, a westerly airflow will continue to warm the air mass, and gusts could reach up to 50km/h.
Wednesday will mark a turning point, as bright sunshine takes over from sunrise to sunset and temperatures climb to 30–32°C. Drier air will settle over the country, and the wind will shift to the north-west, giving Luxembourg a distinctly summery feel.
Thursday will continue this trend, with highs reaching 31–33°C. The skies will remain largely clear, with only a few scattered clouds appearing in the afternoon. Winds will also turn north-easterly and usher in a more continental heat.
Friday is expected to be the hottest day of the week, as temperatures climb further to 33–35°C under uninterrupted sunshine. Light winds will provide little relief from the heat.
All in all, Luxembourg will see temperatures soar well above 30°C from mid-week onwards, with the hottest conditions anticipated on Friday. Residents can look forward to a return of full summer conditions - dry weather and increasingly dominant sunshine are set to prevail.
