Already denied a UEFA licence for European play, Luxembourg's Swift Hesperange now faces a three-year transfer ban after FIFA doubled its original sanction.
According to information obtained by RTL, FIFA has notified Swift Hesperange of a three-year transfer ban, effectively doubling the Luxembourg football club's original sanction.
The initial penalty of three transfer windows, imposed earlier this year, has now been extended to six following further disciplinary proceedings. Such sanctions are typically applied when clubs violate financial regulations, including cases where players report unpaid salaries.
The decision comes weeks after it emerged that Hesperange would also be denied a UEFA licence for the upcoming season, effectively barring the club from European competition.
