In 277 cities and 64 countries, vegans are taking to the streets in a new way: they are to draw their messages on the ground. They aim to use positive statements to convey the reasons why people should consider veganism as a lifestyle choice, using 'chalktivism' as a way of spreading the message.
Because of Luxembourg's upcoming night marathon, this event was brought forward in the Grand Duchy, which meant that demonstrations took place in the Kinnekswiss park on Wednesday evening.
Organisers of the demo added that Luxembourg had made strides in the last few years in terms of making veganism a viable option, and that it was possible to consume food and buy clothes that did not fall back on animal products.
There are no actual figures of confirmed vegans in Luxembourg, but the association reckons around 2-4%.
