With high winds of up to 130km/h forecast for Sunday afternoon until Monday evening, MeteoLux has warned of the risk of falling tree branches, damaged roofs and chimneys, locally disturbed road traffic, especially in forest areas, and dangers to vehicles on roads.
It is recommended to bring in any outside objects that can be blown away by the wind, to make sure that doors and windows are closed properly and to bring in any pets or animals that may be outside.
During the storm, try to stay inside as much as possible and avoid leaving your home unless strictly necessary. Remember to turn off or unplug computers, televisions and other electrical devices. If you must, take out the bins only at the last minute, just before rubbish collection, and try to store them in a sheltered area.
If you must travel, it is best to avoid wooded areas. Try to use public transport where possible, and if travelling by car, avoid small country roads and keep your loved ones informed of your whereabouts.
Essentially, it is best not to leave objects lying around outdoors, to limit travel, keep to moderate speed, be particularly vigilant and not to walk in the forest.
It is also recommended to follow the development of the situation via official information networks and the media.
