Four people were injured in two separate car accidents on Sunday in Luxembourg, including one where a vehicle plunged into the River Sûre.

At around 12.20am on Sunday, a serious incident occurred. For reasons yet to be determined, a vehicle travelling on the N1 between Wasserbillig and the German border, near the municipality of Wasserbilligerbrück, veered off the road in a major accident.

The vehicle plunged into the River Sûre, according to the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS). Three people were injured, and emergency services from Mertert, Luxembourg, and Manternach were deployed, along with firefighters and emergency responders from Trier-Land, Germany.

Shortly before, at around 11.10pm, another accident took place in Luxembourg, on the N33 between Kayl and Rumelange. A car collided with a tree, injuring one person. Emergency services from Kayl attended the scene.
