Police made swift arrests in three unrelated criminal cases Monday, including a violent jewellery theft and a burglary in Luxembourg City.

Luxembourg authorities dealt with multiple criminal incidents on Monday, resulting in several arrests.

On Place de l’Étoile in Luxembourg City, a thief snatched a gold necklace directly from a victim’s neck before fleeing on Monday. Police later apprehended the suspect, who appeared before an examining magistrate on Tuesday.

That same evening in the Grund neighbourhood, officers arrested a burglar inside a bar during the attempted break-in. A search uncovered stolen property and burglary tools, all confiscated as evidence. The suspect was presented to an examining magistrate following orders from the public prosecutor’s office.

A separate incident occurred overnight in Hunsdorf, where police responding to a traffic accident on Rue de Steinsel discovered two individuals fleeing the scene. The suspects, at first believed to be intoxicated, were found in possession of stolen items. Further investigation revealed their vehicle had been taken in an earlier burglary. Both were arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor’s office.
