The 34-year-old was appointed alderman in 2018 after receiving most of the votes in the Septfontaines section of the town the year before.
The municipality of Hobscheid has put out a statement to announce Decker’s death and convey condolences to his family. The statement further notes that Decker was always committed to improving life in the town and that his ear was always open for the people of Hobscheid.
The National Youth Service (SNJ) has also issued a statement to mourn the death of their long-term and dedicated member.
