
At around 5pm on Thursday, a crash occurred on Rue de Kopstal in Rollingergrund. The driver reportedly lost control on a bend, struck a cat’s-eye reflector and eventually collided head-on with a tree.
The driver was taken to hospital with a head wound. A breathalyser test came back positive, resulting in a temporary driving ban. He also admitted that he had been using his phone while driving and was not wearing a seat belt. The road had to be closed while emergency services attended the scene.
At around 3.30am on Friday, a patrol spotted a vehicle on the A4 near the Esch-sur-Alzette Centre exit repeatedly braking and swerving across the road.
The driver was stopped on Boulevard Pierre Dupong in Esch-sur-Alzette. During the check, officers established that he had also been drinking. He was found to be over the legal alcohol limit and was issued a driving ban.
