The weather on Sunday is due to be very warm (suns out guns out, I guess), which will certainly see a rise in swimming pool visits and barbecues. Naturally we should all enjoy the nice weather, but this silver lining comes with a figurative cloud.
Meteolux has issued a yellow alert for heat in the south of the country starting at 1pm and ending at 7pm. The forecast sees temperatures rising up to maximums of between 29 and 31 °C, so please wear suncream when outside and remember to stay hydrated.
On top of that, Meteolux has issued a warning for ozone pollution, affecting the entire country. This yellow alert will be valid between midday and midnight, as Meteolux predicts that the pre-informed ozone level of 160 µg/m³ will be surpassed between these hours. It is not yet clear whether speed limits on motorways will be lowered as a result.
We have certainly had a bit of everything in the first six months of the year, including alerts for high wind gusts, and snow later than expected. Does anybody else remember the snow forecast for early May, barely a month ago?
