A hit-and-run accident occurred on the N15 near Heiderscheid on Thursday at around 6.15pm.
Two vehicles were involved in the collision, after which one of the drivers fled the scene without taking responsibility for the damages.
Authorities have launched a search for the suspect and are urging motorists in the area to avoid picking up hitchhikers. According to information obtained by RTL, the police are utilising Red Cross search dogs and drones in their efforts to locate the fugitive.
