Former employee earns additional €700,000 Dudelange seeks civil damages after irregular payment case

As the investigation into the Dudelange commune continues, Mayor Dan Biancalana has confirmed that the administration will pursue verification of a damage compensation claim, following majority support from the local council.

During Friday morning’s local council meeting, Dudelange Mayor Dan Biancalana announced that the commune intends to examine a potential civil claim for damages against a former employee.

According to reporter.lu, the issue was added to the agenda at the request of council chairs from the Christian Social People’s Party (CSV), the Green Party, and the Left Party (déi Lénk).

The former employee in question allegedly received an additional €700,000 by performing irregular tasks. He has since been sentenced to a fine and a suspended prison term, concluding the criminal proceedings. A majority of the local council has now voted to seek compensation through civil action.
