During a radar control on the A7 at around 4.20 pm on Monday, police officers caught a driver speeding through Grouft tunnel at over 170 km/h. The motorist was travelling in direction of Luxembourg City and ignored all of the officers' signals about stopping.
The officers then gave chase with blue lights and sirens. The motorist still didn't stop and made a swift and dangerous turn onto the A1.
At the entrance of Cents tunnel, the police car was then involved in an accident with another vehicle.
Although both cars were severely damaged fortunately no one was harmed.
The police are now looking for the BMW driver and would be grateful for any information on the matter.
