
Luxembourg police conducted extensive road checks throughout Friday, resulting in numerous penalties for traffic violations across the country.
Between 11am and 1pm, officers stationed between Weckergronn and Potaschberg on the N1 issued citations to 17 motorists for failing to obey stop signs. Each violation carried a €145 fine and a two-point licence deduction. The operation uncovered one particularly egregious case where a driver was clocked at 145 km/h in a 90 km/h zone, resulting in immediate licence confiscation and a temporary driving ban.
From 3pm to 4pm, police monitored the N28 between Oetrange and Bous, penalising seven additional drivers. One motorist was recorded travelling at 169km/h in the 90km/h zone, leading to licence revocation and a driving ban.
In Belval, authorities apprehended an intoxicated driver who ran a red light, resulting in immediate license revocation.
The enforcement campaign concluded with checks conducted between 10pm and 3am in Weiswampach (N7), Hoscheid-Dickt (N7), and Ettelbruck. Of 351 drivers screened, nine were found to be under the influence, with two licences confiscated immediately.
