TrafficCrashes on A4 and A7 caused traffic jams on Thursday morning

Two accidents which occurred on Thursday morning on both the A4 and A7 motorways caused traffic jams towards Luxembourg City during peak rush hour.

On the A4, a collision involving multiple vehicles occurred between Foetz and Pontpierre.

At 7.40am, Cita (contrôle et d'information du trafic sur les autoroutes) reported that the accident scene had been cleared up, but it would take some time for traffic to return to normal speeds due to rush hour.

There were around 5km of traffic jams near the A4/A13 junction of Foetz and Lankelz, as well as at the start of the A4.

Further north, three cars crashed on the A7 behind the Stafelter tunnel. The right hand lane of the tunnel was blocked towards Luxembourg City.

Cita estimated around 6km of traffic jams in this incident as well.

It is not yet know whether there have been any injuries in either of these crashes.

At 7.55am, both motorways still appeared to be impacted by these crashes.
