The trade union Aleba has announced it will participate in a nationwide protest on 28 June, organised by the Independent Luxembourg Trade Union Confederation (OGBL) and the Luxembourg Christian Trade Union Confederation (LCGB) amid pension reforms.

Primarily active in the banking and insurance sector, Aleba has been historically observed in its reluctance to attend protests in solidarity with other unions. In an uncommon move, it has now confirmed it will join national union demonstrations scheduled for the end of June.

The trade union communicated on Friday that the majority of their general assembly voted for taking part in the protest.
