This Monday morning, the government, unions, and healthcare providers are meeting in Strassen to address the long-standing issues of Luxembourg's National Health Fund (CNS).

Tensions within Luxembourg's National Health Fund (CNS) are running high. Just days before Monday's quadripartite meeting, the Association of Doctors and Dentists (AMMD) voted almost unanimously to terminate its convention with the CNS, demanding urgent government action to reform the system and warning that long-standing issues can no longer be ignored.

The quadripartite, which brings together the government, social partners, and healthcare providers, will meet in Strassen to review the financial situation of the CNS and discuss ways to ensure the long-term stability of the health insurance system.

In 2024, the CNS ended the year with a deficit of €25.8 million, reducing overall reserves to €936 million.

Following the previous meeting in May, Minister of Health and Social Security Martine Deprez had announced that by the autumn quadripartite, measures would be developed to secure the long-term financial balance and sustainability of the CNS.

A press conference is scheduled for early Monday evening in Strassen to present the outcomes of the discussions.
