On Saturday, Luxembourg felt the effects of Storm Amy, which brought heavy rain and wind, leaving the Grand Duchy relatively unscathed when compared to other countries in Europe.

Compared with neighbouring countries, the Grand Duchy escaped relatively unscathed. In France, two people lost their lives as a result of the storm, while Ireland also reported one fatality along with widespread power cuts. Belgium and the Netherlands recorded damage in several regions.

In Luxembourg, however, there was no major destruction and no injuries were reported. The emergency services received a total of 340 calls related to the weather, mainly concerning fallen branches and trees. There were no reports of flooded cellars, although some roads had to be closed and tram services between the Luxembourg Airport and Luxexpo were temporarily suspended.
