A conciliation process was required to bring all four parties to an agreement. The union had planned a protest in the capital on Saturday, but this has since been cancelled.

In the newly negotiated collective agreement, annual leave for pharmacy staff increases by four days per year and the five different careers will be re-evaluated.

One key topic was the reorganisation of the on-call service for pharmacies: in future, every hour worked during a shift will count as a full working hour and night shift hours will be paid a quarter higher in the future.

The text of the collective agreement, which will cover a period of three years, must still be approved by the relevant authorities.
