In the commune of Contern, a long-standing employee's contract was terminated without any prior notice at the end of 2024.

A longtime employee was dismissed without notice at the end of last year, leading to a legal battle over the validity of the termination.

The employee’s lawyer argued that procedural errors rendered the dismissal invalid. However, the court did not issue a ruling and did not address the allegations of workplace harassment, stating that such matters fall under a different jurisdiction. Additionally, the judge did not overturn the dismissal, as there was no conclusive proof that the employee was fired for reporting the alleged harassment.

The employee’s lawyer, Alex Penning, maintains that the municipality of Contern committed procedural errors and has announced plans to appeal the court’s decision.
