Economy Minister Lex Delles revealed Tuesday that the Grand Duchy's healthtech sector has grown to 2,500 employees across 130 companies, having added over 600 jobs since 2019.
The health technology sector in Luxembourg has created more than 600 new jobs over the past five years, Minister of the Economy Lex Delles announced on Tuesday in the context of HealthCare Week.
The minister provided figures showing the sector now employs 2,500 people across 130 companies. The landscape is predominantly composed of very small enterprises, with the majority having fewer than ten employees. Half of all healthtech companies have a digital focus.
In terms of specialisation, the sector is broadly divided. Approximately one-third of companies are active in medical devices, while another 31% develop health software for non-medical purposes. The remaining companies are primarily involved in the distribution of medicines and other healthcare products.
