The municipality of Steinsel has warned residents about fraudulent Christmas cards falsely claiming to be from the local waste-management service, soliciting end-of-year donations.

On Tuesday, the municipality of Steinsel issued a warning over fake Christmas cards that residents found in their letterboxes. The holiday greetings were presented as having been made by the local waste-management service, informing people that they will stop by on Wednesday, alluding to end-of-year donations.

The municipality underlines that the cards were neither sent by them, nor by waste-management firm Lamesch.

Steinsel officials shared that the cards' envelopes originate from France. Although Lamesch had previously sent out comparable greeting cards, the municipality confirms that the waste management firm has stopped doing so for a considerable while.
