Train services between Luxembourg and Mersch were suspended on Sunday and it is unclear when they will resume.

A technical failure is currently disrupting rail traffic in Luxembourg, with the CFL (Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois) confirming that line 10 is closed in both directions between Luxembourg City and Mersch.

‘No data on the duration of the disruption is currently available,’ the operator wrote shortly before 7pm, adding that the problem could continue into Monday.

The fault has been traced to the Ettelbruck control room, where maintenance teams are working on site.

Replacement buses have been deployed to serve all stops between Luxembourg and Mersch, while passengers are also urged to use the regular bus network where possible.
