Police made several arrests in Bertrange and Bonnevoie, detaining a shoplifter and two individuals found with drugs, cash, and a weapon following separate incidents reported late Wednesday afternoon.
Late on Wednesday afternoon, the police were called to a supermarket on Route de Longwy in Bertrange following reports of theft. A patrol was able to intercept the suspect. As part of the investigation, it was discovered that the thief had been previously involved in similar incidents. The perpetrator was then detained by orders of the Public Prosecutor's Office.
Two further arrests were carried out on Route de Thionville in Bonnevoie after police received reports of a man with a weapon. Officers took two suspects into custody and located the weapon in the vicinity.
A search of the two suspects yielded amounts of cocaine, cash, and a mobile phone on one, while the other was in possession of tablets, cash, a phone, as well as an unidentified substance the individual had attempted to hide in his mouth. Officers subsequently ordered a scan of the second suspect, which showed further substances hidden within his body. Both individuals were arrested by order of the Public Prosecutor's Office.
