New details are starting to emerge about the knife attack that left one woman dead and another woman severely injured in Limpertsberg on Tuesday afternoon. According to information obtained by RTL, the deadly incident took place in building on Avenue de la Faïencerie, in which an apartment was due to be rented out. The deceased was reportedly a cross-border commuter from France who worked for a real estate agency, while the injured woman was a neighbour living in the same building.
According to reports by newspaper Wort, a dark Renault Clio with French licence plates was later towed away from driveway of the building.
As noted by the police press office on Tuesday, first reports of two injured women came in at around 2.20pm. Later in the early evening, it emerged that one person had died and that police had apprehended a man near Bridel following a car pursuit.
As the fugitive had damaged his vehicle in an accident near the scene of the crime, he later attempted to continue fleeing on foot through nearby woodland before being apprehended. Police subsequently launched a large-scale operation in the Bridel and Kopstal area in search of any further possible suspects.
The public prosecutor’s office did not confirm any of this information when contacted. Further details are expected to be communicated to the public over the course of the day.
