Just like last night, Luxembourg's emergency services had their hands full during this early afternoon of a public holiday. Firefighters were called to three road accidents and an equal number of fires.
After a hectic night for Luxembourg's emergency services (nine injured in a matter of hours), the early afternoon of Whit Monday was marked by three traffic accidents, resulting in four people being rushed to the emergency room.
Shortly before 1.30pm, two vehicles collided on the N7 between Hoscheid and Lipperscheid, causing two injured. The severity of the injuries was not disclosed in the CGDIS report. Ambulances from Clervaux and Nordstad were dispatched to the accident site.
Fifteen minutes earlier, responders had already been called to the A6 between Windhof and the Capellen rest area. A motorcyclist had a serious fall on the highway and was transported to the emergency room. The SAMU (Mobile Emergency and Resuscitation Service) arrived at the scene.
A little after noon, a collision between a car and a motorcycle had already resulted in one injury on CR104 between Nospelt and Simmerschmelz.
Firefighters were called to action three times during Monday afternoon to extinguish a hedge fire on rue des écoles in Schouweiler shortly after 2pm. A similar scenario repeated itself before 4.30pm on rue Esch in Sanem.
Firefighters from Benntendoirf, Tandel, Nordstad, and Colmar-Berg were mobilized around 3.40pm to contain a fire that was ravaging a woodpile on the N19 between Bleesbruck and Bettendorf.
