Following the fatal accident in Neudorf a few weeks ago, a petitioner is now asking for a ban on overtaking a bus that is parked at a stop. Also on the subject of transport safety, a petition seeks for schoolchildren to be required to wear seat belts on school buses, as well as a prohibition on standing spaces on these same vehicles. Another petitioner requests that the connections in northern Luxembourg be improved.
In light of the housing crisis, a petitioner proposes forcing the rental of vacant houses.
One of the petitions echoes another topical debate by advocating for increased security and tranquility for inhabitants and visitors of the Gare neighbourhood in Luxembourg City.
On the topic of education, a petitioner asks that the Luxembourgish language be taught during the courses leading to the Vocational Capacity Certificate (CCP), the Vocational Aptitude Diploma (DAP), and the Technician's Diploma (DT), including in the French-speaking streams.
Two other petitions address noise pollution in residential and urban areas. Petition 2712 calls for a ban on noise pollution, especially from construction sites, before 9am, while Petition 2713 calls for a ban on 'beeping sounds' from trucks and other heavy construction equipment.
