A head-on collision between two cars on the CR125 between Stafelter and Helmsange left three people injured on Sunday morning, with one person trapped and the road closed as emergency services intervened.

At around 10.10am on the CR125, two cars collided head-on on the stretch of road between Stafelter and Helmsange. According to emergency services, three people were injured, with one person needing to be cut free from their vehicle.

The road was completely closed to traffic.

Emergency responders on site included the Luxembourg City medical emergency unit (SAMU), firefighters from Niederanven-Schuttrange and Lintgen-Lorentzweiler, as well as ambulances from Junglinster, Luxembourg City, and Mersch.

Further accidents

Earlier on Sunday, at around 5.35am, a car crashed into a wall on Pont Jean-Pierre Buchler in Luxembourg City, leaving one person injured. Emergency services from the capital attended the scene.

Shortly before 6am, a car caught fire on Route d’Esch in Luxembourg City. Emergency services from the capital and the Luxembourg City SAMU were called to the scene. According to the Grand Ducal Fire and rescue Corps (CGDIS) bulletin, no one was injured.
