On Saturday at around 4.40pm, police were alerted about an individual who had been spotted carrying a firearm on the Rue de Thionville in Bonnevoie. When officers arrived, the individual was hiding inside a store before being detained.
The person was found to be carrying pepper spray and a knife. The firearm, which had no magazine, was found in a bin inside the shop and was seized.
According to initial findings from the investigation, the same individual is suspected to have been responsible for a knife attack on Friday. On the orders of the public prosecutor, the man was taken into custody and appeared before an examining magistrate on Sunday.
On Saturday, an individual was reported in Colmarberg who had entered the cultural centre armed with a knife and had been looking for a specific person. Having failed to find them, the individual left the scene. Police immediately searched for the armed individual but were unable to locate them.
