
The Environment Administration (AEV) has published a report covering the checks and inspections carried out in 2021 and 2022.
Officials liaised with customs agents to carry out checks on cross-border transfers of waste, resulting in 82 taxed warnings out of 532 vehicles checked in 2022.
The report also includes information on a number of products which were withdrawn from sale due to contravening laws on chemical substances. Items such as disinfectants, bathmats and toothbrushes were all pulled from shelves, with a total of 18 sales bans issued.
The AEV also checked industrial emissions, carrying out 20 inspections at industrial locations, based on 331 complaints lodged by citizens and the Grand Ducal police. 58 cases were submitted to the Environment Administration for compliance measures.
