Symbolic, yet effective: as of 1 May 2019, all products designated for feminine hygiene sold in Luxembourg will be subject to reduced tax rates of 3%.
The change applies to diverse products, such as sanitary towels, tampons, pantyliners, menstrual cups, natural sponges, and all other products relating to menstrual hygiene.
The products cited now fall into the category of “pharmaceutical products”, permitting the change in tax rate from 17% to 3%.
