At around 6.20am a pedestrian was knocked down by a vehicle on Boulevard Royal in the capital, suffering injuries in the process. Local paramedics were supported by the Luxembourg City fire brigade and an ambulance. The police later issued a report explaining the driver of the vehicle had attempted to turn into Rue des Capucins, erroneously crossing into a bus lane on Boulevard Royal and then down a one-way street against the flow of traffic. In doing so, the driver failed to spot the pedestrian at a zebra crossing. The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Later, at 8.50am, two cars collided between Doncols and Pommerloch. Ettelbruck emergency paramedics attended the scene, accompanied by Wiltz ambulance and the fire brigade.
