The Left have strongly criticised recent pension reform measures introduced by the CSV-DP government, describing the situation at the National Pension Insurance Administration (CNAP) as “chaotic”. Speaking on RTL and Radio 100.7 on Monday morning, party representatives pointed to internal documents indicating that the new measures are placing heavy strain on CNAP and significantly increasing its workload.

In a press release, the Left emphasised that their MP, Marc Baum, had already raised concerns in the relevant parliamentary committee prior to the vote. He warned of the consequences of what he described as “poorly written texts”.

Funding dispute over staffing boost

To implement what the Left deemed a “useless” reform, Health Minister Martine Deprez pledged to recruit 100 additional civil servants. However, the Left are once again demanding that these salaries be financed through the state budget rather than via contributions to the pension fund.
