
Tanson was unable to provide MPs of the parliamentary commission on housing with many details regarding the fraud scandal, but again emphasised that a complaint has been made to the police.
Internally, the Fonds du Logement is examining what went wrong and how it can improve its own cybersecurity. The fund has already enacted some changes. The executive committee of the fund met on Thursday morning to discuss the issue.
There was one piece of good news that the minister was able to give. She announced that the second transfer to the Polish bank account, which occurred in January, was able to be blocked in Poland. Whilst the first transfer of over €300,000 had taken place in November and that money was gone, the fund would be able to recuperate the second transfer.
Currently, those funds are still with the Polish bank and the fund will see what steps it needs to take to have the money returned. Tanson also stressed that the construction firm that should have been the recipient of the money will of course be paid.
