1. Celebrate Labour Day at Neimenster

Celebrate Labour Day the right way at the Labour and Culture Festival on 1 May, organised by the OGBL. Expect a joyful jumble of concerts, juggling acts and clowning around that’s sure to entertain the whole family. When you need a break from the action, the food village will be ready to rescue you with something delicious.

2. Grab last tickets to TUYS
What: Indie rockers turn 18
Where: Rotondes, 3 Pl. des Rotondes, 2448 Bonnevoie

Local indie heroes TUYS are throwing a party at Rotondes to celebrate their new EP – and, shocking themselves with the number, their 18th band anniversary. Expect a packed night with guests like C’est Karma, Maz, Edsun, Poko from Eternal Tango and fresh faces Falvous. With a history of supporting Arctic Monkeys and The 1975, Tuys are living proof that starting a band in primary school really does pay off – and goes international.

3. Join improv workshop
What: Boost confidence, team-spirit, and spontaneity

Join this joyful & creative workshop with our colleague Melissa Dalton where you will explore the principles of improv that have positive impacts on our daily lives: listening, "yes and...", working as a team, and embracing & celebrating failure & mistakes. No experience or talents required, just come along!

4. See theatre play on adolescence
What: Struggles of youth in spotlight
Where: Grand Theatre, 1 Bd Robert Schuman, 2525 Luxembourg

Spring Awakenings takes a bold look at adolescence, sexuality, and society’s shifting norms through the lens of Frank Wedekind’s groundbreaking 1891 play. Though once censored for its raw treatment of topics like homosexuality, suicide, and rape, this contemporary adaptation brings the struggles of today’s youth into sharp focus.

5. Watch All About Eve
What: 1950s classic
Where: Cinémathèque, 17 Pl. du Théâtre, 2613 Luxembourg
When: Saturday, 3 May at 8pm – info & tickets
Margo, an established theatre actress, appoints Eve, an aspiring actress, as her personal assistant. However, Margo is unaware of Eve's intention to take over her career. Has achieved a 99% score on Rotten Tomatoes, and is still considered one of the must-sees of the 50s.
6. Hear brass performances in Esch
What: Brass all night long
Where: Conservatoire of Esch, 50, rue d'Audun, 4018 Esch-sur-Alzette

Concerts, auditions, and masterclasses will alternate throughout the week at the Conservatoire as brass instruments are put in the spotlight. Highlights include a visit from the Luxembrass brass quintet, a performance by the Conservatory's Brass Band featuring soloists Michel Barré and Klemens Vetter, and concerts by instructors and students. There are also masterclasses, but the main attraction for the general public is the concert evening on 2 May at 7.30pm.

7. Visit the Remich fair
What: Fun and games
Where: Remich city centre
When: Running until 11 May – more info here
The Réimecher Kiermes is back, serving up food, drinks, games and plenty of reasons to skip cooking for the day. Swing by during the week or make it a proper outing on Family Day (8 May), where the only real challenge will be dragging the kids away from the game stalls.
