Julien Doré, Michel Polnareff and Soprano are amoung a host of rap, electro musicians, and popular French artists who will be perform at the 5th edition of the Francofolies festival this weekend.
Gaalgebierg Park in Esch-sur-Alzette is the venue for the event, which will take place from 6 to 8 June. The city will host three stages, lots of entertainment, food trucks, and a campsite to accommodate an expected 30,000 festival-goers.
With almost 40 artists taking over the stages during the next three days, Loïc Claret, the director of Francofolies, is already excited. “The line-up is always eclectic as we try to make every day vibrant.”
The “Francos”, as they are known, have lined up some of the festivals favourite past performers to liven up the Main Stage, such as Julien Doré , Bigflo et Oli, and 80-year-old veteran Michel Polnareff, who is currently on his farewell tour. Marseille rapper, and Francofolies favourite, Soprano, is also scheduled for Saturday evening.
Luxembourg artists are included on the bill too, such as Maryana and Mæhila.
Stéphane Eicher will be perform a one-man show at the Escher Theater. And at the Kulturfabrik, metalheads Ultra Vomit and Sublind have already sold out.

Although the festival first took place during the Covid pandemic, with restricted visitor numbers and seated concerts – a far cry from today’s atmosphere – it has since found its stride. This year, organisers plan to transform Gaalgebierg Park into a dedicated music zone.
“We’ve got a beautiful park with trees and shaded spots right in the city centre,” remarks the director.
Speaking to RTL Infos, Claret also highlighted new features, including Finnish baths and silent discos where festival-goers can dance to music with their headphones.
A festival of this scale inevitably raises questions about its environmental footprint. Organisers have addressed this by promoting train travel, hiring local producers for catering, and introducing reusable cutlery.
Although the 2025 edition has yet to begin, planning for Francofolies 2026 is already under way.
Claret remained tight-lipped about next year’s line-up but confirmed that preparations are in full swing.
