A day before the start of their shows, the minds behind Crosses took the time to talk to Stephen 'Steps' Lowe about their process for creating music.
Musician Chino Moreno (front man of the absolutely monumental Deftones) and producer/multi-instrumentalist Shaun Lopez are currently on tour to promote their second album 'Goodnight, God Bless, I Love U, Delete'.
Live from Hamburg, they shared their thoughts with Today Radio, touching on topics such as the shift from one's day job to the tour life, and how you 'feel it in your bones', as if a natural shift were to set in.
When asked about what they enjoy most about writing and recording music, Lopez replies that it is most rewarding to produce music with Chino in the same room, that way immediate reactions can be taken into account and they can bounce ideas off each other.
Additionally, Shaun Lopez (previously of band Far), mentions how he knows which musical composition is right for Crosses and which isn't. One of their aims is to give the 80's music scene a 'tip of the hat', to pay tribute to them without completely copying the 80s scene.
As part of their tour, the genre-defying Crosses will be stopping at Luxembourg's den Atelier on 17 June, and there are still a few tickets available on den Atelier's website.
For all the Crosses fans out there, word on the street is that it might be a good idea to keep your eyes and ears on RTL Today and Today Radio in the coming days, as something might be cooking...
If you are curious about Crosses' creative process and what they think should be fixed in the music industry, head on over to RTL Play for the full episode of Sunny Side Up.
