On Sunday, French-Luxembourgish triathlete Jeanne Lehair claimed her first-ever World Cup win in Chile, bringing the 2025 season to a close with another triumph.
Lehair took first place in the World Cup event held in Viña del Mar, Chile. Completing the sprint distance, which consisted of 750 metres swimming, 20 kilometres cycling, and 5 kilometres running, she finished in 56 minutes and 13 seconds, well ahead of Spain's Sara Guerrero (56:35) and Venezuela's Rosa Elena Martinez (57:10).
Most of the world's top triathletes did not compete in Chile, meaning Lehair started with bib number 1 as the clear favourite, and she lived up to expectations.
For the 29-year-old, the win marks a perfect end to a remarkable season before a well-deserved break. Lehair firmly established herself among the world's elite this year, celebrating her first-ever victory in the World Triathlon Championship Series earlier in 2025 with a win in Yokohama. She also triumphed in the Supertri League thanks to her victory in Toulouse, a race made even more memorable when her partner proposed to her on the podium.
Shortly afterwards, Lehair travelled to Australia for the final round of the World Triathlon Championship Series in Wollongong, hoping to secure another medal. However, she fell short of expectations, finishing 21st, which dropped her from third to sixth place in the overall world rankings.
