Luxembourger Jeanne Lehair secured her first victory during the World Triathlon Championship Series in the second round of the series in Yokohama, Japan.
The Luxembourgish athlete Jeanne Lehair won the Olympic distance race early this morning, Luxembourg time. She mastered 1.5km of swimming, 40km on the bike, and 10km of running.
In a strongly staffed race, Jeanne Lehair was ahead by four seconds, thus overtaking the British World Champion of 2023 and double Olympic bronze medal winner Beth Potter. The German athlete Lisa Tertsch completed the podium with a lag of six seconds. She had won the first round of the World Triathlon Championship Series in Abu Dhabi in February. In Abu Dhabi, Jeanne Lehair ranked seventh.
It is the first time for Jeanne Lehair to be at the very top of the World Triathlon Championship Series podium.
The French olympic winner and world champion Cassandre Beaugrand also participated in the Yokohama race, yet she left the competition after the swimming race.
