The 2026 MEVZA Beach Tour tournament in Luxembourg concluded on Sunday, 2 August, following four days of competition from 30 July.
Hosted by the Luxembourg Volleyball Federation (FLVB), the event was held for the second time on the MEVZA Beach Tour calendar and, for the first time, at the Baggerweier lakes in Remerschen.
The tournament was the strongest MEVZA Beach Tour event to date, featuring three teams with more than 700 FIVB World Ranking points. Luxembourg's top men's beach volleyball pair, Colin Hilbert and Steve Weber, reached the quarterfinals after an impressive run.
Seeded fourth with 688 FIVB World Ranking points, they opened Pool D with a hard-fought 21–19, 21–19 victory over the Czech duo Tusek/Nowotny. In their second pool match, Hilbert and Weber were defeated 17–21, 15–21 by fellow Czechs Olsansky/Westphal, who went on to win the tournament. The Luxembourg secured their place in the quarterfinals with a 2–0 victory over Austria's Kitzmüller/Holzner in the playoff round.
Having already claimed bronze at the opening MEVZA Beach Tour event and silver at the second tournament of the 2026 season, Hilbert and Weber were aiming for another podium finish. Against another Czech pairing, Oliva/Kuthan, they took the opening set 21–19 before their opponents levelled the match by winning the second set 21–15. Oliva/Kuthan then controlled the deciding tiebreak, winning 15–9 to end the Luxembourg duo's campaign. In a surprise result, none of the top four seeded teams reached the semifinals.
In the final, Slovakia's Nemec/Jancok won the opening set 21–17 against Olsansky/Westphal, but the Czech pair responded by taking the second set by the same score before sealing the championship with a 15–10 victory in the deciding tiebreak.
Luxembourg's beach volleyball vice-champions, Mathis Wolff and Lucas Pernossi, entered the tournament as the 10th seeds. Their opening Pool B match against Hungary's Pongracz/Goudie went to three sets. After losing the first set 18–21, the Luxembourg pair levelled the match with a 21–17 second-set victory before falling 11–15 in the decider.
In their second match, Wolff and Pernossi faced Slovenia's Jevšnik/Mugerli, who would later secure the bronze medal. The Slovenian won in straight sets 21–16, 21–13 to eliminate the Luxembourgers from the main draw.
The event marked the first time a MEVZA Beach Tour tournament had been staged at the Baggerweier lakes in Remerschen. Although there are still a few aspects to fine-tune, feedback, particularly from the athletes, was overwhelmingly positive.
