Starting with Luxembourg

  • The latest figures from Luxembourg show that 171 new cases of coronavirus were discovered over the last 24 hours.

  • According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Health, appointments must be booked in advance for the booster jab.

  • The Ministry of Health is currently also looking for solutions to avoid long waiting times at vaccination stations, and has confirmed it has over 100,000 doses in stock.

  • While the CSV wants to wait for the final version of the draft bill, the adr feels that the new measures announced yesterday will put too much pressure on society. Meanwhile, the Pirate Party favours a ‘2G+' strategy, i.e. combining CovidCheck with mandatory tests.

  • On the subject of the new measures, the introduction of a general ‘2G’ rule, i.e. access only for vaccinated and recovered individuals, in the leisure sector will naturally also affect restaurants and bars.

  • Related to this, Deputy PM François Bausch was a guest on RTL Radio this morning. He noted that while everyone within the government is tired of the pandemic and renewed restrictions, there is no way around them for the time being.
